Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition)
The HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) will return as the world’s largest electronics event expecting a record breaking 2,900 global exhibitors. Together with 570 electronics components, solar and display tech companies that will be present at the concurrent electronicAsia, the two fairs will maximise trade opportunities for all in the business.
The Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and electronicAsia are scheduled for 13-16 October 2010 in the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Both fairs are organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), and in partnership with the MMI Asia Pte Ltd (MMI) for electronicAsia.
“Now in the 30th edition, the Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) strives to widen its variety, depth, and breadth of exhibits this year. New elements will include the launch of a Green Electronics Square, showcasing products that are driven by environmental-friendly manufacturing process, design or functions, plus a line-up of the hottest electronics gadgets such as android, tablets, eReaders, as well as solar photovoltaic products and latest display technologies at electronicAsia,” said Benjamin Chau, Deputy Executive Director of the HKTDC.
The Hall of Fame will return with more than 390 big brands of distinguished electronic products. The zone has proven to be one of the effective international marketing platforms.
The Technology Exchange Zone will unite Hong Kong’s leading research and education institutes and incubatees of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks by displaying their latest technology ideas. The 2010 Fair will also see the product zones that have proven to be successful over the years, from audio-visual products to in-vehicle electronics and navigation systems, and from home appliances to telecommunications products.
During the fair period, a series of industry specific seminars will be organised for visitors. Among them will be a Hong Kong Electronic Industry Summit, held on 13 Oct, which will converge local leading industry players to share their insights into the opportunities and challenges in the industry.
The concurrent fair, electronicAsia, will showcase the newest products in components and assemblies, together with solar photovoltaic and display technologies from across the world.
Entering into the 14th edition, electronicAsia is taking steady growth with expanding exhibitor profile. The 2010 event will see first-time participation from Italy, Ireland and Japan. Ota City Industry Promotion Organization from Tokyo will introduce several major companies under their group pavilion and bring in new technologies and sophisticated processing for the business.
Furthermore, Daejeon Technopark from Korea is supporting fifteen companies to organise Korea Pavilion for the first time, while past Korean exhibitors including SME supported by Incheon Chamber of Commerce are continuing their participation in electronicAsia to showcase their latest products and technologies from Korea.
Opportunities will be multiplied in two notable “fairs within a fair”, namely the World of Display Technology and the World of Solar. The World of Display Technology will present the latest technology research, technical improvements and innovations in display technologies.
The World of Solar will showcase an abundant display of solar technologies, components, products and services, photovoltaic & renewable energy equipment, engineering and technology in the search for alternative energy sources.
A conference featuring solar and PV technology will host discussions on alternative energy sources and technological applications. Leading players from around the world will speak at the conference on 14 October.
To facilitate continuous growth of electronics industry, the Hong Kong Electronics Industries Association (HKEIA) and the HKTDC hold hands again to organise the HKEIA Award for Outstanding Innovation and Technology Products. The competition is free and open to entry for exhibitors of Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and electronicAsia. The award will be presented at the Networking Reception of the fairs on 13 October.
