The17th China (Shenzhen) International Gifts, Handicrafts, Watches & Houseware Fair
The long-awaited 17th China (Shenzhen) International Gifts, Handicrafts, Watches & Houseware Fair was held during April 25-28 in the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center, attracting tens of thousands of trade visitors including 8000 VIPs. Innovation and environmental protection were the two themes of the show, where the visitors were amazed at the original products. Lively business negotiations swept away the haze of the financial crisis, resulting in 128,910 purchases that beyound exhibitors’ expectations. The cartoon products of the Pobaby were such a great success at the show that visitors came in droves to see them within the four days. Hu Jie, manager of the Shanghai Yixiang Company said: “we launched dozens of new products and drew attention of many professional buyers from the beginning of the first day. We are increasing brand awareness through the Shenzhen Gifts & Home Fair and getting several orders on site. Thanks to the show last year, we have involved as suppliers of China Mobile, China Telecom, China Everbright Bank, China Construction Bank and so on. Accurate market positioning is the key. We will not only participate in such fairs in the future, but also increase the investment in R & D to create better products to meet market demand. We will surely need a bigger sand in the next show.”
“The Financial crisis accelerates the restructuring of the gift industry,” said Mike Jiang, Reed Huabo’s managing director. “With some new visitors in the gift industry, the whole industry has become more prosperous with every player’s effort. That’s why we can hardly feel the cold snap in the fair. A lot of exhibitors increased their shares of the domestic market, while overseas suppliers brought about rarely-seen products. Everyone is looking for opportunities in the crisis, and together we ushered in the spring of the gift industry with constant innovation.” Ou Bai, general manager of the Octopus Merchandise Center, a delegation exhibitor in the show, said “Octopus is the largest gifts & home market in Guangdong province boasting 2,000 member enterprises. We sent some leading members here and they all received some orders. The show is China’s biggest by the number of buyers and we will encourage more members to come next year.”
There’s no doubt that the grand show is a feast for both domestic and foreign buyers. About 8,000 delegation visitors, including industry associations, commerce chambers and major market players across the country, came to seek business opportunities. Li Jincheng, secretary general of the Kunming Gift Association, visited the show more than ten times, saying “we saw many interesting products here and our member companies found good partners. Leather, electronic and ceramic products sell good in Kunming. We have grown bigger and stronger thanks to the exhibition. We also made a lot of friends here.”
